I am going to type in all caps now.
I know it looks a tad amateurish.
MAN I HATE GLEN “BIG BABY DAVIS” NOW!
WHAT THE HELL IS HE SAYING!?! WHAT THE HELL IS BIG BABY SAYING!?! HE SOUNDS LIKE A BITTER EX-GIRLFRIEND! WORSE, HE’S PUTTING HIS TEAMMATES IN A BIND! I MEAN… DID THEY EMPLOY SOME DUDE TO HACK RAY ALLEN’S FACEBOOK PAGE TO POST THAT PIC WITH HIM AND RAJON RONDO!?!
Okay, that last paragraph is an eyesore.
I am a Boston Celtics fan. I refuse to believe that Isaiah Thomas is what people say he is (that travel guy) but I do think they need to discard all of their first round picks to acquire vital title cogs. Have Gordon Hayward reunite with Stevens! Hell, let’s boost the Butler-ness of the situation with the entry of Shelvin Mack as well! Stevens is a bad rebuilding stage coach because how can you get lottery picks when you are trying your darndest to compete for playoff seedings!?!
Danny Ainge got a goldmine in Stevens!!!
Rajon Rondo is the last player from that 2008 squad to leave because Stevens wants new blood. The rest of the pack was traded because both sides need to restart their career paths. The Celtics hold the option to swap with Brooklyn in 2017 and that’s good because they have already the Nets’ 2018 first round pick. As the Nets continue to miss out because they were too eager to form a team with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, Boston continues to triumph and may have the goods to land a blue chipper for next season.
In some ways, the “rebuilding” phase they are in at the moment is partially because of the events that transpired with the 2008 championship core.
So let’s return to the Ray Allen thing. Unlike what the rest of the pack said, I thought they are the ones that need to get their egos shafted and re-align with Ray Allen. Why? Because it would be cooler! Imagine these guys going to Allen’s restaurant in Miami. They could use it as a promotional campaign or it can be the sincerest of actions. This would pit these guys in a different light!
But then as if one Area 21 is enough, they have to unleash Glen Davis to the wild.
I go back to the ramblings of Big Baby in Undisputed as well as in Colin Cowherd’s program. Davis said Allen left in a huff… without saying a word… to join up with their enemy. Leaving without notice in any shape or form is a valid point to get angry. However, Davis kept on rambling about family and brotherhood and money and ring-hopping… that his words become cringe worthy by the second. For every ramble, it felt as if Allen is correct to leave the whiners behind. There is a reason why Rondo’s silence is more intriguing than his sports show-hopping. In that Area 21 interview, the words that mattered are either Garnett’s or Pierce’s.
Basically Allen is Seth Rollins when he hit Roman Reigns with a chair leaving Dean Ambrose googly-eyed.
It felt as if the reason why the Celtics core hates Allen so very much is because he is the one that everyone relies on.
Now don’t get me wrong – I know Allen’s spot is being transitioned to Avery Bradley a year before his departure. Prior to that, Allen almost moved to Memphis and I bet Danny Ainge has shopped him to all 29 teams at one point. But if that’s the case then why did they hate Allen that much? If they are going to use Allen the same way as Miami used their former star, then they could just use some random shooter in his place.
I thought that was why they were training Avery Bradley!
Sad to say but Allen never needed the Celtics as much as the rest of the boys needed him (at least when Rivers began to give his time to Bradley). And while Allen should have left with at least a conversation with either Garnett or Pierce, but maybe his decision to move to Miami also shows that Allen also carried a grudge that led to his departure. I hate Allen for leaving Boston but isn’t it ironic that the one man they were trying to push out is the man that struck them the deepest? He has been asking for time, telling his team that his time isn’t up and instead of getting support from his brothers… he just accepted the fact that he’s going to do things on his own.
Think about it – they indirectly plugged Allen’s restaurant while Allen remained silent throughout this ordeal (with the exception of the hacked Facebook account).
Again I am going haywire. But I will say this – as much as I hate the ideas of Max Kellerman, he is correct in saying the 2008 title wouldn’t have been possible if not for Allen. They were a team that came about in the best time and he should be part of their tenth anniversary. But why would a man go to a party to sit in one corner? I guess one would answer that if Allen had the balls, he would just show up uninvited to meet up with the boys.
Maybe that’s the case?
I mean… Allen had talks with Ainge of a possible return before retiring completely last season.
